Salted Caramel Protein Smoothie in a glass

A teaspoon of sugar-free caramel syrup is doing almost all the work here, with a pinch of flaky salt on top to make it taste more expensive than it is.

It is the same vanilla-protein base as half the list, which is the point: small additions change the whole character of the glass.

method

  1. Pour the almond milk into the blender, add the protein powder and caramel syrup.

  2. Add the ice. Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds, until completely smooth.

  3. Pour into a glass and finish with a pinch of flaky salt on top. Drink cold.

chef's tips

  • Look for a caramel protein powder if your store carries one. One less bottle in your pantry.
  • Use a protein powder with no added sugar. It is the difference between a few grams of carbs per scoop and a lot more.
