PB&J Protein Smoothie in a glass

Peanut butter and berries is a flavor combination kids already trust, blended here with vanilla protein so it holds up as an actual meal.

If the kids in your house are skeptical of anything labeled healthy, start with this one and do not mention the protein powder.

Part of our 50 high-protein, low-carb smoothie recipes list.

method

  1. Pour the almond milk into the blender, add the peanut butter, berries and protein powder.

  2. Add the ice. Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds, until completely smooth.

  3. Taste and adjust: a few more ice cubes for thicker, a splash more liquid for thinner. Drink cold.

  • Use a protein powder with no added sugar. It is the difference between a few grams of carbs per scoop and a lot more.
