Greek yogurt plus protein powder makes this the biggest protein hit on the list: 35 grams in one glass.
The lemon zest is not decoration. It is what turns a plain berry smoothie into something that tastes deliberately made.
This is number 10 of our top 20 high protein, low carb smoothies.
method
Pour the liquid into the blender, add the yogurt, blueberries, zest and protein powder.
Add the ice. Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds, until completely smooth.
Taste and adjust: a few more ice cubes for thicker, a splash more liquid for thinner. Drink cold.
chef's tips
- Zest the lemon before you juice it; nobody zests a squeezed half.
- Wild blueberries are smaller, darker and blend smoother than the big cultivated ones.
- Use a protein powder with no added sugar. It is the difference between 3 and 15 grams of carbs per scoop.
