Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • 2 lbs ground lamb (or beef)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 cups bone broth
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • Fresh herbs

For the Topping:

  • 2 heads cauliflower
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

Cauliflower Topping:

  1. Steam cauliflower until very soft
  2. Drain thoroughly
  3. Add butter and cream
  4. Blend until smooth
  5. Season well

Meat Filling:

  1. Brown meat with onions
  2. Add vegetables
  3. Stir in tomato paste
  4. Add broth, reduce

Assembly:

  1. Transfer meat to baking dish
  2. Cool slightly
  3. Top with cauliflower mash
  4. Create peaks with fork

Baking:

  1. Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes
  2. Broil for golden top
