A single teaspoon of real molasses carries the entire gingerbread flavor here, backed by ginger, cinnamon and a pinch of clove. It is the one spot on this list where real sugar belongs.
Do not swap the molasses for a sugar substitute. The flavor will not survive the trade.

method
Pour the almond milk into the blender, add the protein powder, molasses and spices.
Add the ice. Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds, until completely smooth.
Taste and adjust: a few more ice cubes for thicker, a splash more liquid for thinner. Drink cold.
chef's tips
- A teaspoon of molasses carries the whole gingerbread flavor. Don't swap it for a sugar substitute.
- Use a protein powder with no added sugar. It is the difference between a few grams of carbs per scoop and a lot more.
